Space for your vehicle and the jobs around it

A timber garage gives your car or motorcycle covered parking and keeps equipment together. Extra room beside the vehicle can make routine maintenance easier. Allow space for a workbench, stored tools and clear access around anything parked inside.

Start with how you will use the building each day. Parking needs differ from workshop use, particularly once shelves and equipment take up floor space. Leave room to open vehicle doors and move safely around the garage.

Choosing between Power and Palmako

Power log cabin garages include single and double models with apex or pent roofs. The range uses 44mm logs, with nominal sizes including 10x16 and 20x18.

Palmako Roger garages have wooden-door and sectional-door models. Available sizes include 3.6x5.5m, 4.5x5.5m and 5.4x5.4m. Your choice depends on the space available and the door arrangement you prefer.

Check the space you can actually use

Nominal size alone does not tell you whether a vehicle will fit comfortably. Check internal dimensions, the door aperture and the overall roof dimensions before choosing your garage.

For example, the Power 10x16 Pent has internal dimensions of 2712x4512mm and a double door aperture of 2150x1944mm. Its external log dimensions are 2990x4790mm. External dimensions including the roof are 3247x5030mm. These measurements apply to this model only.

This Power example has 44mm double tongue-and-groove interlocking logs and a 19mm roof. Floorboards are not included with this garage. Exact kit contents vary, so check the individual product before arranging your base.

Prepare the site before delivery

Plan a level base that meets the chosen garage's requirements. Our log cabin bases information helps you consider the groundwork before ordering. Check the building footprint and roof overhang against your available space.

Power delivery is kerbside by a 26t HIAB crane lorry. Access restrictions need checking before delivery is arranged. Consider the approach to your property and where the vehicle can unload.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions for timber treatment and ongoing maintenance. Check the required treatment schedule for your chosen model. Browse timber treatments as part of your preparation.
